*Tijuana is good for Emergency appointments as of now, Mostly they are giving Expedite appointments only for Doctors / Physicians*
✅We saw 3 to 4 non-emergency appointments cancellations in Tijuana recently in Aug, Sep after our clients went to asc or visa interview.
✅They were able to request for Emergency appointment immediately by calling consulate by phone or through portal & another client was able to book randomly opened dates in Mexico city and travelled there
✅Based on these events, seems Tijuana is allowing Emergency appointments & some non-emergency appointments for 3rd country nationals coming from USA & they are giving emergency appointments only for healthcare folks & Doctors
✅Note : Incase if your appointments gets cancelled & unable to attend, you can come back to USA using automatic revalidation rule (expired visa & valid i-797A) within 30 days of your travel to Mexico
NOTE : YOU CAN SCHEDULE ASC AT TIJUANA AND CONSULAR APPOINTMENT (VISA INTERVIEW) AT OTHER LOCATIONS

Sharing few info & Experiences Below
Mexican Visa:
If your US Visa has expired you need to get a Mexican visa from any Mexican Consulate (Mexican visa is good to have as you have to go through the Mexican immigration at the San Diego border in case you are going to Tijuana, Mexico). If you have a valid US visa (not expired) / Japan / Shenghen / Canadian Visitor visa, then you don’t need a Mexican visa.
(OR) getting mexican visa is not at all possible then, just take FMM card at below link & you can travel by land.
To obtain a Mexican visitors visa: Below is the process
1) Book an appointment by online / Email / phone (based on your location & Mexican Embassy)
2) Download and fill the application form
Documents required:
1) Passports (H1/Dependents)
2) I-797 Approvals for H1/H4/Dependents
3 I-94 (H1/Dependents)
3) Filled Mexican Visa Application form
4) Pay Stubs (last 6 months)
5) Bank Statements (last 6 months) for each applicant – NOTE: They asked bank statements for my wife who has H4 visa. I convinced them that my wife is not working and cannot have bank statements and provided the marriage certificate.
6) Marriage Certificate
7) Address proof (Drivers license or lease document or Utility bill or bank statements)
Above are the basic documents which mostly covers everything . However you might need additional documents based on your case or depending on the Mexican consulate you are applying at.
Visa Appointment/ DS-160
1) Filled Ds-160 forms for both of us (H1 and H4) and booked a visa slot
2) These days US consulate in mexico is not accepting visa fees payment online using credit/debit cards instead asking to pay the visa fees at local mexico banks (SCOTIABANK or BANAMEX). I used this website folks(Venkat & Ernesto) to pay our visa fees for US Visa H1B Stamping Tijuana Mexico

When did you get your passport? Please help to explain process for pickup from asc or consulate or DHL etc., Passport pick up the next day at 3pm. Went in all the way back to the building and the hall where got interviewed. Just need the green slip the visa officer gave and your photo ID (drivers license). Visa officer asked if coming to consulate is my only purpose to Mexico. I said yes. He then said you can get your passport back soon as tomorrow.
Is this emergency appointment (or) non-emergency appointment ? emergency appt.
When did you start visa stamping process for mexico ? Mid-March sent EA letter out. Get approval in few days. Appointment day in Mid-April.
Please share any tips you think will useful for getting emergency appointments (or) non-emergency appointments? As said above, the officer said they give EA only to health care related H1B at Tijuana consulate. I saw only about 20-30 applicants in the hall during a 30min wait. I am probably the only 1 or 2 H1B applicants. The rest are mexican applicants.
Any feedback you want to leave for our team (or) any suggestions for upcoming clients. Sincerely thank Venkat, Ernesto and Raul’s help in my visa trip in Mexico. I want to highlight their punctuality and promptness in responding to my text messages. This is the second time I went to Tijuana for the same reason. They make my trip go a lot smoother. Getting a Mexico visa is highly recommended unless your US visa hasn’t expired yet. It’s not complicated to get a Mexico visa as long as you prepared the right documents they asked for. Do not expect Mexican immigration officers speak English.

Overall from entering to coming out of counslate took 1.5 hr.. would have been little less, but can expect delays as officers can take good time to verify documents for some applicants/families and also longer interviews.
