Yes, possible to get F1 visa stamping in mexico. Any information you look in any other websites does not exact say what’s the accurate information (as they don’t have 1st hand information like we do)
I came to USA on H4 visa & been on H4 visa & Applied for C.O.S (change of status) with USCIS & it’s taking more time, can i still come to mexico (or) do i need to wait for C.O.S to be approved from USCIS before visa stamping in mexico ?
Yes, while H4 to F1 : C.O.S application is still in-progress, you can still come to mexico and do your H4 to F1 stamping,
You don’t need to wait for C.O.S to be approved. Many did the same & got back to status immediately after attending visa interview as UCSIS is taking more time for this.

Any Denials for F1 visa in Mexico locations ?
- Monterrey has been so far very good for F1 visa stamping. Only 2 or 3 denials out of 5000+ students so far from last 5 years. That is also …. If you had multiple denials of F1 visa at home country or any other visa’s, then Mexico is not recommended for you if you don’t have any visa stamping in passport is expired(But if you have any visa stamping still valid in your passport like H4 or F2, then you can try for your F1 stamping in mexico (even if you had multiple denials in home country)
- Good case scenario – Like 99.9% of our clients, you will get successful F1 visa stamped in mexico.
- Worst case scenario – you can fly to home country to attend visa interview again.(but not usually needed until for for almost 4000+ F1 visa holders from last 4 years.
Any 221g’s (Admin processing) in Mexico locations for F1 visa ?
F1 visa has very very less chances for denials as well as admin processing in mexico.

H4 to F1 : Change of status – Change of visa category – 1st time F1 stamping in Nuevo Laredo Mexico : Expedite / Emergency reason that worked for recent clients (Below client got Expedite appointment for Nov 15th for ASC, Nov 16th 2022 for visa interview :
Timeline of below client :
Oct 12th – visa fee payment completed
Oct 18th – Applied for emergency appointment ; got Expedite appointment approved by Nuevo Laredo Consulate on Nov 18th itself for dates of Nov 15th, 16th 2022.
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing this to get an emergency appointment for my student (F1) visa. My college’s semester starts in less than a month, and I cannot travel back to my home country as I had originally planned, due to COVID risk, time to travel, availability of flights and availability of appointment dates. I tried for regular and emergency appointments many times but I am unable to schedule regular appointments before December.
I am currently enrolled in a master’s program at the Wilmington University on a dependent (H4) visa. I had to start my program on an H4 visa because there was no window of opportunity for me to travel back to my home country and get my F1 visa due to the Covid pandemic. Now, since my next semester classes starts on 10th December 2022, it has become very urgent for me to get my visa stamped so that I can attend college at the start of the semester on F1 status. Additionally, I must complete rest of the masters on my F1 visa to be eligible for Curricular Practical Training/OPT. I have invested a lot of time, money and effort to get into this university and if I am unable to get my F1 visa on time I will not have the opportunity to gain invaluable relevant training during my Curricular Practical Training/OPT, seriously impacting my future career prospects.
Additionally, I don’t want to leave my husband alone here in the US in these stressful times where there’s a chance that I might be stuck because of international travel restrictions given the massive number of covid cases in India.
In light of the above, I would be really grateful if you would consider my request for an emergency appointment around 14th November, 2022.So that I can safely continue with my educational endeavors.
Would like to hear back from you!
Sincerely,
